YOUNG LIVES VS CANCER
Our United Kingdom Charity of the Year partnership
was with Young Lives vs Cancer, the United Kingdom’s
leading charity dedicated to supporting children
and young people under 25 who are diagnosed with
cancer, along with their families. From the moment of
diagnosis, the charity steps in to provide emotional,
昀椀nancial, and practical support – helping families cope
with fear, unexpected costs, and the life-altering impact
of cancer treatment.
In FY25, through a grant from The Access Foundation
as well as a diverse programme of fundraising activities
and Access matching, c. £1,015,500 was donated.
The grant from The Access Foundation enabled 1,233
hardship grants for families with young cancer patients
across the UK. Alongside the Foundation’s grant, Access
employees demonstrated outstanding commitment to
supporting Young Lives vs Cancer through a series of
creative, physical, and community-driven fundraising
events. Together, these diverse fundraising activities
raised vital funds for young people facing cancer
and re昀氀ected our strong culture of compassion,
collaboration, and social impact.
THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR RARE
DISORDERS (NORD)
The National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD)
is a leading United States nonpro昀椀t dedicated to
improving the lives of the 30 million Americans a昀昀ected
by over 10,000 rare diseases – 50% of whom are
children. In FY25, through a grant from The Access
Foundation as well as employee fundraising activities
and Access matching raised c. $49,000 which supported
the charity’s mission.
The Foundation grant helped to strengthen NORD’s
Rare Disease Centers of Excellence (RD CoE) and their
Expert Monthly Case Conference Series, enabling
multidisciplinary medical specialists to collaborate
on complex and di昀케cult-to-diagnose rare disease
cases. Alongside the Foundation’s contribution, Access
employees in the United States rallied in support of
Rare Disease Day through creative and compassionate
initiatives. Fundraising activities included Wear Stripes
for Rare Disease Day and funding care packages for
children over the festive periods. Our partnership with
NORD underscores the importance of collaboration
in addressing healthcare disparities and improving
outcomes for vulnerable patient groups.
