SUKA SOCIETY
SUKA Society is a Malaysian child protection
agency committed to safeguarding the rights
and wellbeing of children in crisis. Their
work focuses on those most at risk including
unaccompanied refugee children, Indigenous
communities with limited education access,
and survivors of human tra昀케cking.
This year, employee fundraising e昀昀orts,
combined with Access matching contributions
and The Access Foundation grant, raised c.
MYR 311,150. The Access Foundation helped
45 unaccompanied minors by covering
essential living expenses such as food,
housing, medical care, and school fees for a
year.
The grants will help ensure each child receives
the stability and protection they need to begin
healing and building a better future. Alongside
the Foundation’s support, our employees have
shown tremendous commitment through
local fundraising e昀昀orts, including a virtual
campaign where employees shared a wishlist
of items for the children which employees
could donate to fund.
MITEY INITIATIVE
Mitey, an initiative of the Sir John Kirwan
Foundation, is a ground-breaking programme
helping to transform New Zealand’s mental
health future by educating children aged
5–13 about mental health. Co-designed by
the University of Auckland, clinicians, and
educators, Mitey provides a research-driven,
school-wide approach to mental health
education for Years 1–8.
In addition to the Foundation funding, Access
employees contributed to the initiative raising
c. $61,000 through local fundraising events
including bake sales, 昀椀lm nights and quizzes
with Access matching all donations.
The grant from The Access Foundation
supported the continued rollout of Mitey
across nearly 200 schools in New Zealand. This
investment enables more children to learn the
skills, understanding, and empathy needed to
support both their own mental health and that
of others.
